Great Southern GP Network (GSGPN) programs focus on improving health outcomes for the community through the provision of quality services to our members. GSGPN assists GPs, registrars, Medical Students and Allied Health Professionals in accessing medical education opportunities.

The Nursing in General Practice Program and Practice Nurses Network assists Nurses working in General Practice within the Great Southern with ongoing clinical education.

Quality Use of Medicines

Aims to achieve safe, effective and appropriate use of medication and to detect and prevent medication related problems that interfere with patient health. Promotes best practice treatment through cooperation between GP, pharmacist, other relevant health professionals and the patient.

Our contracted Pharmacist provides education to GPs, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacist, Medical Students, and Allied Health Professionals, regarding new medications, effects and treatments.

Information is provided to the community members relevant to medication safety, safe disposal of old medications, benefits of Home Medicines Reviews and generic medications.

Clinic Rooms for Visiting Specialists

Great Southern GP Network has clinic rooms available for hire, for visiting Specialists to Albany and our members.
